Freezing Fun at the Stadium Series

Towards the end of January, my husband and I braved the biting winter chill to attend the Stadium Series at Yankee Stadium. Let me tell you, it was absolutely freezing! Despite being bundled up in countless layers, we both felt like icicles by the end of the night. Hockey is undeniably a cold-weather sport, but watching it outdoors under the vast, open sky in a historic baseball stadium was an experience unlike any other. The energy of the crowd, the crisp sound of skates on ice, and the sheer spectacle of it all made for an incredibly memorable evening, even if my fingers and toes begged for warmth. It’s certainly a story we’ll be telling for years to come – a testament to enduring love, and perhaps, a slightly questionable tolerance for extreme cold!

Tranquil Sunset in Croton-on-Hudson

There are some moments so perfectly serene that they demand you simply stop and absorb them. This picture captures one such evening when I found myself in Croton-on-Hudson, watching the sun dip below the horizon. I stood there, mesmerized, as the sky transformed into a canvas of vibrant oranges, purples, and pinks. The Hudson River, usually bustling, was remarkably calm, reflecting the spectacular colors like a giant mirror. It was a profoundly peaceful experience, a reminder to pause and appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds us. And yes, I know I might sound a bit like a “cheese ball” waxing poetic about a sunset, but some sights are just too magnificent not to gush over!

A Dream Come True: Attending The People’s Court Live!

For anyone who knows me well, my enduring love for “Court TV” is no secret. And among all the legal dramas and reality court shows, The People’s Court holds a special place in my heart – a fascination that dates back to my childhood. So, a few months ago, I finally made my dream a reality and managed to convince my wonderful friend, Gina, and my ever-supportive husband to join me for a live taping! They truly are the best sports when it comes to indulging my quirky passions. Sitting in that audience, watching the real-life courtroom drama unfold, was absolutely thrilling. I even DVR the show every single day, just to ensure I never miss a moment. Yes, I’m fully aware it makes me a total weirdo, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

An Autumn Stroll on the Dutchess Rail Trail

Last fall, my husband and I enjoyed a beautiful, crisp day with a leisurely walk along the Dutchess Rail Trail. The air was cool, the leaves were just beginning to turn vibrant shades of red and gold, and the path stretched out invitingly before us. It’s such a fantastic spot for a walk, offering picturesque views and a refreshing escape into nature. As we ambled along, we spotted this elegant swan gliding gracefully across the water. My immediate reaction was pure delight – “Oh, look at that majestic swan! This is absolutely Instagram-worthy!” It was a perfectly serene moment, a reminder that some of the greatest treasures are found in the quiet beauty of a simple autumn afternoon.

Ringing in the New Year with Friends (and Gin!)

New Year’s Eve is always a special time, filled with anticipation and the joy of celebrating with those closest to you. This particular New Year’s Eve was spent with my absolute best friends, creating lasting memories as we welcomed another year. It was also the memorable night where I embarked on a personal mission: introducing them to the sheer awesomeness of gin. Seriously, I’m convinced more people need to “jump on the gin train”! It’s an incredibly versatile and flavorful spirit, and I genuinely believe it can be a delightful discovery for many. Watching their reactions as they tried different gin concoctions was priceless. I might not always have the most eloquent way with words, but when it comes to my passions – especially food and drink – I’m quite persuasive!

The Simple Beauty of a Maple Leaf

While I’m certainly no botanist, I’m pretty confident in identifying this lovely specimen as a maple leaf. There’s something so captivating about the intricate veins and the rich, warm hues of a leaf, especially as the seasons begin to change. This particular leaf, with its perfect shape and vibrant color, caught my eye on a peaceful walk through the woods. It serves as a beautiful reminder to pause and appreciate the small, exquisite details of nature. Sometimes, the most stunning sights aren’t grand landscapes but rather the delicate artistry found right at our feet. And isn’t it just so wonderfully pretty?

A Radiant Moment: My Sister-in-Law on Her Wedding Day

Last summer was filled with joy as my brother tied the knot. It was such a special occasion, and I had the privilege of capturing this precious moment of my beautiful sister-in-law just before she walked down the aisle. She radiated such grace and happiness, looking absolutely breathtaking in her wedding gown. There’s a unique magic in those quiet moments leading up to a ceremony, filled with anticipation and pure emotion. As a family member, watching her prepare to embark on this new chapter was incredibly touching, and I felt so lucky to witness her beauty, inside and out, on such a significant day.

A Sky Full of Color: Hot Air Balloons Over the Hudson

One of the most spectacular sights we witnessed last summer was the hot air balloon launch along the picturesque Hudson River. The vibrant colors of the balloons against the clear blue sky were absolutely mesmerizing as they gently lifted off the ground, one by one. The atmosphere was electric with excitement and wonder, a truly unique community event. While I admire their majestic beauty from afar, I must confess that the thought of getting into one of those giant baskets, propelled by fire, makes me a tad nervous! But despite my personal hesitation to ascend, the visual spectacle was utterly awesome, a memory that still brings a smile to my face.

Discovering the Rich Heritage of Woodford Reserve Bourbon

Last October, I had an incredible opportunity to visit Kentucky with Buick, an experience that led me to the renowned Woodford Reserve distillery for an unforgettable bourbon tour. Not only was the distillery itself absolutely gorgeous, boasting stunning architecture and lush grounds, but it was also, unsurprisingly, brimming with exquisite bourbon! Learning about the meticulous process of crafting this iconic American spirit, from grain to barrel, was fascinating. The rich aromas, the history etched into every corner of the property, and of course, the chance to sample some of their finest offerings, made for a truly immersive and delightful experience. It was a wonderful dive into the world of craft spirits and a highlight of my travels.

A Bridesmaid Moment (and a Gorgeous Handmade Headband!)

And here I am, looking rather happy as a bridesmaid in a lovely Florida wedding! While being part of such a special day for friends or family is always a joy, what I truly wanted to highlight in this photo is the stunning headband I’m wearing. It was custom-made by my incredibly talented sister-in-law, and I absolutely adore it! Her craftsmanship is exceptional, and it added the perfect touch to my bridesmaid ensemble. It’s moments like these – celebrating love, being surrounded by cherished people, and wearing something so thoughtfully created – that make life truly wonderful. I often find beauty in both grand celebrations and the smaller, more personal details that make them unique.
